Mrs. H. Pomeroy
Dosbarth Transformers - Nurture
Hi, my name is Mrs Pomeroy and I am the class Teacher for our Local Authority based Nurture provision. Together with Miss Fellows (HTLA) and Mrs Jones (LSA), we meet the well being needs of our most vulnerable pupils, building their self esteem, social skills, in order to remove any barrier to learning.
There isn’t a subject I do not enjoy teaching, and prefer to be led through the interests of the pupils. My favourite aspect of the role is building relationships with the pupils, learning all of their individual qualities, celebrating their success, and watching their confidence grow. I am a strong believer in the impact of positive mindset, and the effect it can have on a pupil's wellbeing and learning capacity.
I am also the Additional Learning Needs coordinator within Ysgol-Y-Graig, and love nothing more than exploring different individual learning styles and aiding the process of helping pupils reach their learning potential.
When I am not in school, I love to spend time with my family, especially my three children, exploring everything the world has to offer. I love to watch my eldest play netball, my son play football, and my youngest perform in her dance extravaganzas. I am a strong believer in exercise and the positive effects it has on wellbeing; when I am not out on long walks, roller skating or trampolining with my family, I like to go to Zumba and socialise with my friends.
Fun Fact: I was once asked to appear as an extra in the Ruth Jones, Sky One series Stella, but turned it down because I was too shy.
