Your Voice Matters at Ysgol y Graig
At Ysgol y Graig, we want children to help shape our school.
Pupil voice means giving you real opportunities to share your ideas, make decisions, lead projects and help us make Ysgol y Graig even better.
We don't just want to hear what adults think, we want to know what YOU think too!
How can you have your say? There are lots of ways you can get involved.

Our Pupil Leadership Team
Each year, pupils have opportunities to put themselves forward for leadership roles.
Our pupil leaders listen to the ideas of other children, discuss what is working well and think about things we could improve.
They meet together throughout the year and help turn children's ideas into real actions and changes.
You don't have to be the loudest person in the room to be a leader! We want everyone to have opportunities to build their confidence, share their ideas and make a difference.
You Help Shape Your Learning
Your voice isn't only about what happens around school.
We also want you to have a say in your learning.
Your teachers will give you opportunities to ask questions, make choices, suggest ideas and think about what you would like to discover next.
Our “I wonder…” questions are one way you can tell us what interests you and help influence where your learning might go.
Listening to LearnersThroughout the year, teachers, senior leaders and governors will talk to pupils about their experiences in school.
We might ask:
What are you proud of?
What helps you learn?
What would make learning even better?
Do you feel listened to?
What would you change?
There are no right or wrong answers. We want you to tell us what you really think.
From Your Idea to ActionPupil voice should make a difference.
YOU SHARE → WE LISTEN → WE ACT → WE TELL YOU WHAT CHANGED
Sometimes we won't be able to do everything that is suggested, but we will always listen and explain what can happen next.
Everyone Has a VoiceYou don't need to be on a pupil leadership group to have your say.
Every pupil at Ysgol y Graig has a voice.
You can speak to your class representative, your teacher, another trusted adult or a member of our pupil leadership team whenever you have an idea.
Your school. Your ideas. Your voice.
At Ysgol y Graig, we want you to grow into confident, independent young people who know that their voice can make a difference.
