Our aim is to create a warm, friendly and nurturing atmosphere for all pupils. The day-to-day care and wellbeing of children rests with the class teacher, who is the first point of contact. If a concern arises, the Headteacher will be informed and parents or carers will be contacted as appropriate. Ms Kaya (Headteacher) is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the school, supported by the Deputy Safeguarding Lead Mrs Pomeroy.
The Local Authority provides clear procedures that all schools must follow in cases of suspected non-accidental injury or child abuse. Any safeguarding concerns will be dealt with in line with the All Wales Safeguarding Procedures, ensuring prompt, confidential and appropriate action.
The Designated Safeguarding Governor for Ysgol y Graig is Mr Clive Tovey, who works with the school to ensure safeguarding duties are met and policies are reviewed regularly.
