Dear Parents, Carers and Visitors,
A very warm welcome to Ysgol y Graig Primary School.
Having now had the privilege of leading Ysgol y Graig for over a year, I am incredibly proud of our school, our children and the community we serve. During this time, I have had the opportunity to really get to know what makes Ysgol y Graig special – our wonderful pupils, dedicated staff, supportive families and the strong sense of community that sits at the heart of our school.
At Ysgol y Graig, our pupils are at the heart of everything we do. We want every child to feel safe, valued, included and inspired, while receiving the very best opportunities to learn, grow and achieve. The values of belonging, respect, independence and kindness continue to underpin our work and guide the decisions we make for our children and our school.
Strong relationships with parents and carers are an important part of our success. We recognise that children achieve their best when school and home work together, and we value the trust, support and involvement of our families. My door remains open, and I encourage parents and carers to communicate with us, share their views and play an active part in school life.
Over the past year, we have spent time listening carefully to our pupils, staff, families and wider community. Their voices have helped us reflect on what we do well, identify where we can be even better and shape the next stage of our journey.
Pupil voice is central to life at Ysgol y Graig. We want our children to know that their ideas and opinions matter and that they can make a genuine difference to their school. Equally, we will continue to create opportunities for parents, carers and our wider community to contribute to our development and our shared vision for the future.
As we move forward, our ambition is clear: to continue building a happy, inclusive and ambitious school where children develop a love of learning, believe in themselves and are given every opportunity to thrive – academically, socially and personally.
I am extremely proud to be Headteacher of Ysgol y Graig and excited about everything that lies ahead for our school.
Knd regards,
Ms H Kaya
