Our Governing Body plays an important role in supporting, challenging and helping to shape the strategic direction of our school. Governors work in partnership with the Headteacher and staff to ensure that Ysgol y Graig continues to improve and that every decision is made with the best interests of our pupils at its heart.

Our governors bring a wide range of experience, skills and perspectives from across our school and community. They provide both support and challenge, helping us to reflect carefully on our strengths, our priorities for improvement and the impact of our work. Governors are involved in areas such as: school improvement and strategic planning standards of teaching and learning safeguarding finance and resources attendance Additional Learning Needs wellbeing and inclusion staffing and leadership curriculum development engagement with pupils, families and the wider community.

Governance at Ysgol y Graig is not simply about attending meetings. Our governors take an active interest in school life through learning walks, discussions with pupils and staff, monitoring activities and regular updates on progress against school priorities. This helps governors develop a clear understanding of the school and enables them to ask informed questions, celebrate success and provide appropriate challenge where needed.

We are grateful to every member of our Governing Body for the time, commitment and care they give to Ysgol y Graig. Together, we share one clear ambition: to ensure that every child belongs, believes and thrives.
